Hiking & holiday

Follow the call of the mountains

It's no surprise that Styrian Krakau is one of the most popular hiking areas in the Murau-Kreischberg Region: The numerous, well-marked hiking trails lead hikers through idyllic valleys and to imprsesive peaks. The Landgasthof Jagawirt, with views of the surrounding countryside, is the ideal domicile for an active walking holiday. The Preber Mountain (2,740m), which forms the natural border between Styria and the County of Salzburg, majestically overlooks the lovely village of Styrian Krakau, a beautiful place for a holiday that is always worth a visit.

Krakau's lakes

Embedded in Beauty

Unbelievably beautiful and impressive, like jewels on green velvet, Krakau's lakes: The Schattensee and Etrachsee Lake as well as mountain lakes such as the Rantensee or the Wildenkar Lakes are ideal places to relax and ponder. In the neighbouring district of Lungau a walk around the Prebersee Lake, lying at an impressive 1,514 metres, is a great way to unwind and enjoy the surrounding panoramas.

Walking for pleasure

in the climatic health resort Styrian Krakau

The gentle walks and hikes to the many mountain hut restaurants known as "Hütten": The Ebenhandlhütte in Rantental, the Möslhütte in Prebertal and the Rudolf Schober Hütte in Etrachtal are three of the most popular rustic snacking stops for hikers in the region.
